Ancillary Task

For the ancillary task we used a modern typeface, this we thought would be better suited to the modern genre and appropriate to our youthful target audience.
We found this an occurring theme throughout the promotional music video, however we felt that it was appropriate in order to create a successful, professionally finished product in all areas of our promotional digi-pack.
The imagery used here and throughout the rest of our ancillary tasks (digi-pack) was taken in the process of filming or have been used screen shots of the finished production itself. It continues the occurring theme throughout our products and has been purposely used to ensure it is a recognized image for Magnetic Man’s ‘I Need Air’. We used a very iconic image of the main character as we wanted, not only to follow through with our audience research, but for it to become and maintain a recognizable product which has been inspired clearly by the nation wide phenomenon ‘Avatar’. It can be seen as an indexical representation because instantly, it is something that our audience will recognize not only through our promotional work, but also throughout our final production.

CD Front Cover
For this part of the ancillary task we used mainly shots/screen grabs from the final production itself, for the text, we again used a modern typeface as for this particular part of our promotional digi-pack, we feel that the typography used within the advertising piece is absolutely crucial to maintain the occurring theme throughout our promotional work/products.
We have used the same type of imagery by including the symbolic smoke, by doing this not only have we again maintained our occurring theme but also repeatedly created an indexical product as it is something the audience will instantly recognise despite it only being the back cover.
It has been very simplistically designed as well made to successfully connote the striking and eye catching techno genre which our production and other promotional work has been continuously including.
CD Back Cover
This piece is the poster for our re-production of 'I Need Air' you can instantly see that this piece has been designed to recognisably connote the techno genre and be of benefit to our institutional record company so it would attract audiences unfamiliar to the works of our chosen artist, Magnetic Man.
Again the imagery used was taken in the process of filming or have been screen shots of the finished production itself.
We have maintained the recognisable symbolism of the smoke, and included key details/information that are used on other successful promotional packs being distributed today. The institution has been included as well as the name of the artist and an insert of the CD front cover so our audience and buyers can recognise and familiarise their selves with our promotional products for our production.
We have again included one of our main characters of the production (one of the more iconic characters) to gain the interest of our buyers further as well as maintain the consistency and indexical link between our production and promotional products.
The Poster
For this piece we always and initially wanted something quite different to our other promotional pieces however still able to relate to our production. Throughout our own analysis we spoken how we have been using indexical texts and continuous themes, although very different imagery has been used, this piece still works in the sense that it is still our man iconic character and a screen shot from our music video itself.
This particular shot was chosen as it is an occurring theme throughout our production and is an intertextual reference to our inspirational works that leading institutions have distributed nation wide.
It is an effective key shot and has been used effectively for this particular part of our promotional digi-pack imagery, using atypical conventions of our music video as an indexical image.
